AntiBiotics At Factory Farms Causing Super-bugs

So what do you think about this? A cause for concern? No big deal? Do you think it's worse than claimed or are they dramatising it?

I do think the more chemicals and antibiotics people use to rear animals and grow vegetables, the less healthy people will become all over the world. This is a great business with a lot of money involved, and unfortunately those who are at its helm usually don't give a damn about others' health. In fact, the less healthy people become, the more profit medical organizations (medical insurance companies, pharmacies, factories, etc) will make. It's a vicious circle.

I honestly don't know if the real situation is worse or better than described in the video, but this is surely a cause for concern. That's why I'm always veeeeery picky about food I buy. I try to choose products that contain as little fillers and other chemical garbage such as monosodium glutamate as possible. I've gone slightly offtopic from talking about animals but these are the links of the same chain. Knowing what veggies from your own garden taste like, I'm always so much frustrated with what I can buy at supermarkets. Those are not real veggies but just some colourful things that look like them, obviously tilled with too many fertilizers and pesticides for a faster growth with no pests.

Anyway, that's just the world we live in, and one has to be aware of it and be as cautious as possible. Of course, if he believes that the big money world will not care about his health (which, unfortunately, seems to be true).

Oh and by the way, it's a known fact that bacteria and viruses become insensitive to antibiotics over time, which results in creating more and more types of antibiotics. But this can't last forever, so I won't be surprised if sooner or later we'll have to face a disease that is no longer sensitive to any antibiotic at all.

I'm not panicking though, I'm always hoping for the best and that people will finally realize the harm they do to the environment and themselves before something really disastrous happens. Emotion: wink
