Are cats intelligent?

Many cat owners often say cats are too intelligent (or proud? ) to do those tricks that dogs usually do gladly. Others believe that cats are unintelligent because it's harder to train them. What opinion would you cling to and why?

I have had both cats and dogs.. right now I only have two cats, my dog is over at my girlfriends house.. so he is now more or less hers. back to the question at hand. I would say that cats are more intellegent.. I base my opinion off the fact that I have spent hours moping and scrobbing mud off the walls of my house when Luther would come in from the rain.. and yet the both cats can stay clean.. without redecorating.. But I am highly biased towards cats anyway.. anyway my opinions are usually wrong.. but there's my two cents

Not only can you hear purring, you can also feel its vibration sometimes. This makes purring most sweet and tender. So, how and why do cats purr? How do cats purr? Some people claim that nobody has yet discovered...

LoL you made me laugh. Thanks for your opinion anyway! I'm also biased to cats but, generally, I try to think about dogs as if I had one... I guess dog owners could tell us a million of stories why dogs are more intelligent, hehe.
