Ok I am planning on getting a new corn snake and I was wondering about the cage set up I am planning on getting those small cages till he gets a little bit bigger. So I kow I have to have a undertank heater but what about the basking lamp? Is it ok if I just wait until I get a bigger tank or do I have to put one in right now?

hi yeah i'm sure it's just fine. an undertank pad is enough. of course you can get a small heat lamp if you want and turn it on in chill weather but this is not really necessary as long as the undertank mat is there and it's enough for the snake to stay warm. corn snakes dont need uv rays.
