Why do cats drink from toilet?
I don't quite believe the explanation they do it coz the water in there is refreshed more often because cats have very sensitive sense of smell and OF COURSE the smells in the toilet are not nice! Anyone has other ideas?

Water leak problem
I've always thought it's great when your cat can flush the toilet, but having read this story, I'm no longer sure of that lol. From the video description: Jennifer and Jim kept getting huge water bills. They knew beyond a doubt that the bills weren't representative of their actual usage, and no matter how they tried to conserve, the high bills continued. Although they could see nothing wrong, they had everything checked for leaks or problems: first the water meter, then outdoor pipes, indoor pipes, underground pipes, faucets, toilets, washer, ice maker, etc. -- all to no avail. One day Jim was sick and stayed home in bed, but kept hearing water running downstairs. He finally tore himself from his sick bed to investigate, and stumbled onto the cause of such high water bills. Apparently this was happening all day long when they were not at home. Knowing that few would believe him, he taped a segment of the 'problem' for posterity -- see attached video. ...

How do you train a cat
Ok I know how dogs are trained. Food, rewards, praise, and so on. Does the same applies to cats? I've tried to train mine but all he does is ignoring me or giving me odd looks like what the heck does this human want from me. Am I doing something wrong or my cat is untrainable? He's a British Shorthair.

Cat Attacking Owners
Hi all, we have a 10 months old neutered cat. Several months ago he broke his front leg and was in a cast for around 4 weeks. He's doing much better now but his behavior has changed to being more aggressive. He can attack me or my husband without a reason, and I know he's not playing (I can tell the difference). He won't stop trying to attack me even if I push him away. His ears get flat and all the stuff. I've tried "scuffing" him to subdue him but it doesn't help, enraging him just more. I can't tell what exactly causes these outbursts and the best solution I've found is to put him in the bathroom until he's himself agian. It takes 10 mins usually. Have you had an exprerience with something similar? Can this be happening because of the trauma and what should we do, call a vet or cat behaviorist?

Hyperactive cat
I love my Ocicat to bits but she's a monster. She fights neighbour cats and they've already united in a group demanding me to rehome my cat. I tried to keep her indoors but she ends up ruining the house. She does have scratching poles, toys, high spots to sit on and nevertheless she won't stop scratching furniture, curtains and wallpapers when she wants to. What should I do??

New kitten crying missing his mom and...
Hi everyone! Yesterday we at last got our Scottish Fold kitten! She's a heart melting ball of fur and everyone fell for her immediately. The only problem is that she won't stop meowing as if she's looking for her mom and litter mates. This is heart breaking to watch. We know it's natural because they have emotions too but is there anything we can do to help her adapt? We've been letting her explore the surroundings and since she barely knows us we don't pick her up very often so she's not overly stressed. Are we doing it right? Maybe we need to cuddle with her more even though we're strangers in her eyes?

Two days ago I took?
Two days ago I took in a traumatized 11month old Ragdoll cat. She was mistreated by the previous owner (a young girl), I'm not sure what's happened to her but she is absolutely terrified. I've put her in her own room. She is finally out from under the bed but has chosen to stay in the cat cage that she came in. She has just started eating and last night I noticed that she was out of the cage & watching me sleep, she was meowing sweetly. Although once I spoke to her she quickly scurried back to the cage. When I try to pat her, she backs right away, she usually growls or hisses at me. She didn't use the kitty litter, she used the floor. I was hoping that someone could give me some ideas on how I can make a bond with her?

Wild cat needs to see a vet
We have a stray cat coming over every week, we think she's female and she's very wild, she won't allow anyone closer than several yards. When we leave food for her she'll wait until we go away and only then she'll inspect what we've left. One of her paws and her tail seem injured, she limps and keeps the tail hanging down as if she has no control over it. We want to help her but there is obviously no way we can approach and take her to a vet. I'm certain she'll get stressed and we'll get scratched. Any ideas?
