It's so annoying, they end up finding plastic bags no matter where I put them and then just nom nom on them and I hate that sound! Why do cats do that?

Hi my once very active and slightly aloof kitty who would rarely cuddle up to me has become much more affectionate now. He'll bump his head against my hand and start purring which he would never do when he was young. Do all cats get more affectionate with age? I've also noticed his temperament has become more calm. He's 14 years old.

When a cat does something he's not supposed to do, how long is it okay to keep him in the quite room? What if he meows constantly but as soon as I open the door he rushes back to doing what he had been doing and what had been sent to the room for? What he does is harassing our 11 year old cat. I know he only wants to play but Minnie doesn't.

Everyone knows cats are inquisitive but there's gotta be a line somewhere, right? When I'm at home, Miky keeps an eye on me almost non stop. He hates to be ignored. It's up to the point when he jumps and sits on the microwave and watches me and if I don't look at him he'll meow meow and meow. That's amuzing but jeeez! He often follows me around the house and meows and squeeks if I do something he doesnt want me to do and undoubtedly all he wants me to do is to give him attention! I already give him a LOT but this cat seems to have no limit! Anyone else's kitties super clingy too?

Hi any idea what to do with bossy cats?? I have two. Both are highly vocal, continually meowing, purring and demanding. If I'm not playing with them or am in a "wrong" room they'll use various vocalizations to communicate with me and tell me I'm the worst cat mom. They'll wake me up at 6am attacking my feet to make me go to the kitchen and feed them. My boyfriend laughs at me saying the girls have me perfectly trained. I'm owned, used and abused by my own cats!!

My cat Swirly likes burrowing in cardboard boxes so I assumed she'll like a snuggly place to sleep in. I've always wanted to buy a "pyramid" for her and finally I did it, but she won't go inside. She's a large kitty and a tad overweight so I wonder if the opening is a bit small for her. There's no doubt she'll fit inside but I am not sure she realizes it. Tips please?

Any tips to help me sort this? A year ago I adopted a cat which is 2 years older than my resident cat. It took him a while to get used to his new home. Now the cats seem to compete with each other for my attention. They get along well as long as it's not a matter of being around me and my room. When they are both around me I give them affection equally. The problems begin when I sleep. They will yowl loudly for almost the entire night trying to get into my room or at each other. They'll yowl even if I lock them in different rooms. It feels like I'm their property. Is there a way to show them I love them both? Once they ended up attacking each other but fortunately now it's just hissing and show and they seem okay with each other unless I'm involved. Is this cat jealousy? They are both neutered. Ami

My cat often tries to chase her own tail as if it was a toy. She'll catch and bite it. Is it just her oddity or I should be worried? She doesn't do it often but a couple of times a week. UloK

We have a cat which is 10 months old now. At about 8 months he began to pee and poo in our bed. We thoguht he was marking his territory so we've had him neutered. It happened about 2 weeks ago. But his nasty behaviour persists. Is it a mental problem? WIll it help if I give him a sedative? Is it possible to break this habit at all? Please advise. Thanks in advance.

For the past month my cat has been waking me up at the very same time like an alarm - 6:40am. He won't stop meowing and pawing me until I get up and feed him. If I ignore him he'll start jumping around or meow directly into my ear. I always leave some food for him in the evening but he wakes me up anyway to get a fresh portion. He used to do so in the past but then it stopped. Now it's started all over again. Any ideas? I love my cat but this drives me MAD!

Hi! My cat showed brutal aggression to my son! I brought him and my wife home. At first everything was fine. We were diapering the baby and the cat was walking around and exploring the new smells and things. Then my son started to cry, and Dilma attacked him! It was not a bite on his hand or leg, she jumped onto his head like a hunter! Son was scared and began to cry even more, my wife became hysterical. I had no choice but to take the cat to a shelter. But I don't know if I've done the right thing! Dilma is 5 years old and I feel so bad for 'betraying' her. But she betrayed me too being so aggressive to my son! Why did she do that?

A few weeks back I adopted a 6 year old cat from a local shelter. I was warned the cat was very active but difficulties can never push me away so I took her anyway (besides, chances that someone else would adopt her were low because of this behavior issue, and the poor creature was very likely to be put down in a few weeks). Anyhow she's safe with me now. The problem is that she's really... active and desctuctive! She doesn't seem to run out of energy. She'll want to play, run, jump, climb over and over again. With breaks of course but this doesn't save the situation. I don't want to give her back but I'm really at a loss. Any idea how I can tame her? Will spaying help? Or should I perhaps get her a mate (another female cat)? I'm not even sure if anything can be done at all because I've heard cats can't be trained like dogs. Thanks for reading! P.S. She does have all necessary cat stuff like cat trees and toys but she'll still scratch furniture, wallpapers and doors every now and then.

One of my kittens keeps biting cables. This must be happening at night because during the day I catch no one doing it, what can i do?

I brought home a 5 month old cat from the shelter. She seemed scared when I got her, but I just assumed that it's the whole atmosphere from the shelter, lots of noise and its obveously not a nice place for animals. She's been with me for 3 months now but still completely scared about everything! I'm the only person who can even touch her, if anyone else comes over, ESPECIALLY MEN (my brother for example) she's nowhere to be found. I am wondering what happened to her at the shelter and how can I help her overcome this being scared all the time?
