Hi peeps.
Just quick question about dog breeds. Are English and Irish Staffies same breed under different names, or there's difference in their appearance?

The English Staffordshire Bull Terrier (ESBT) is a BREED while the Irish (ISBT) is a BREED TYPE.
Average ISBTs are leaner and kind of taller than average ESBTs.
ISBTs were bred purposely for dog fighting and when this "sport" was banned, the breed became rare. Nowadays, ISBTs regain their popularity as pets and as weight pulling & athletics competition participants.
