i accidentally changed my dog's food about a week ago and she had an upset stomach when i did so. 3 days after that, i revereted her back to the original dog food she ate, but she still has an upset stomach. is this normal? when do you think she will be alright? should she go to the vet? do you think this is from the food change or something else? she seems healthy other than that and still likes long walks, to be played etc... i have a 4 y/o german shep which was adopted from the shelter about 7 mo ago

this Saturday, 4/17, Manu and i will be at the Three Dog Bakery in downtown Seattle, from noon to 3, as representatives for the Pit Bull Project. We'll be doing breed education, looking for foster homes, and showing some of the available puppies. Manu will be giving handshakes and sloppy kisses, and i will be handing out treats and all the information you could want on Pit Bulls and related breeds . it would be great if anyone wants to drop by and meet us, and maybe fall for a pit puppy of your own. you can find more information here: [link] and [link]/. -kelly

Hi A friend of mine has recently 'inherited' a rotweiller, originally purchased by her daughter, who can no longer keep the dog. She is 9 months old, and was purchased at 6 weeks old at a cost of £300. She is a lovely and very much adored dog. My friend noticed the dog occasionally limped, and after an x-ray at the vets, it was discovered that the dog has a poor hip, which is apparently a common hereditary problem in rotweillers, an operation to fix the problem for just this hip, will cost about £450.00. It transpires that her pet insurance does not cover hereditary conditions. My friend was distraught, and contacted the breeder to ask whether the parents were 'hip-scored', and whether the dog was actually KC registered. Also the pedigree certificate for the dog, is obviously just something that has been created on a home pc. The breeder is not interested in the dogs condition, and does not want to get involved, either to give my friend guidance and support on the dogs condition, nor to at least help with the cost of the operation. My friend is furious and believes that the breeder should at least show some interest, and perhaps help with the cost of the operation. The breeders response is that its not her problem, and the cost is my friends own fault for taking out 'cheap insurance'. Are there any rules that this breeder should adhere to in this situation, or are they perfectly within their rights to not want anything to do with it? Also, do dog breeders have to be registered with a governing body? Is there anyway to find out whether this condition was present in the dog from birth? Any advice would be greatly appreciated Thanks Lisa

Hi all,Just thought I would share that we brought the little Dane home yesterday, 8 weeks old. She's a real joy. I haven't had a lot of opportunity to be around Danes in many years, so it was a lot of fun when we were taken out into the breeder's backyard and mobbed by three happy adults and six happy six-month-olds. All of them were as well-behaved and loving as any Dane I've ever met. One of the adults was this one's mother, and a more perfect temperament we could not have asked for. Our little one we are calling Saskia. She's a fawn. She is already displaying quite a number of Dane characteristics like an easygoing nature, quick learning, sleeping, and laying her muzzle gently across the nearest human body part. She still gets scared now and then, but after only 12 hours here she has adjusted phenomenally well and has settled right in. She wags at us a lot. The cat is getting used to her already, as well. Being from a good breeder, she came with a certificate of good lungs and heart, her pedigree quite a ways back showing no hip dysplasia, a bunch of food, a small wooden Great Dane, some brochures about the food the breeder recommends, a leash, and she's already microchipped. The weather is a bit nippy today... since it's not freezing or anything, I hope I can still take her out for five minutes or so when she has to pee? I guess it's about 11 C, or 51 F, out there. She's picked a spot in the kitchen, and I'd really rather she got the hang of the yard as soon as possible. The house itself is quite warm. Katrina

I'll be adopting a rescued dog soon, my first dog. Just purchased a new car with leather seats and it never occurred to me that a dog's claw's might damage the leather until I read a post somewhere that a woman purchased a new car with cloth seats just for that reason. I'll probably be getting a cocker spaniel, older, gentle (if that makes any difference). And if its true, is there anything I can do with the claws and some kind of protection to the seats that will protect them from damage? Do not email if posting response. To email, replace x with 4

Please go check out my friends webpage devoted to his Whippet, he is a retired veteran of the Army, kidney transplant survivor, and has created this webpage in his spare time. He would be delighted to have people visit, and make his counter go up. No Ads. No money to be made or scam. Just a friend of mine, who loves his dog. Thanks, for helping me put a smile on his face. My wife and I are looking a smaller breed that does well living indoors, doesn't shed a lot, is fairly even-tempered, and will enjoy going on daily walks with me. I should admit that a main reason for getting a dog now is that my physician said I have to increase my daily walking and having a dog along would increase the enjoyment. Thanks for any advice.

Hoping someone out there can help me to identify the breed mix for my new adopted little doggie. His name is Scooter and he is somewhere between 1 and 2 years old as best we know. He weighs 11.5 pounds, is extremely bright and alert. Rarely barks and is very friendly. I have placed some pics on my company web site. Thanks to all who took the time to look and respond! George

I am looking for a male Irish Terrier. I have made initial email contact with several breeders but none seem to be in my geographic area. ( My family and I live in Cleveland, OH ) My neighbor had an IT when I was growing up and it was a wonderful dog. I have an 8 and 11 year old and they are ready to handle some of the responsibilities of caring for the dog. Any information would be welcome, feel free to email me at (Email Removed). Thanks, D
