From time to time I have to remove some dry dark (usually brown) stuff from my cat's eyes near the tear ducts. It doesn't look like pus but rather like goop. It doesn't seem to bother him at all. What makes this substance occur and what can I do to prevent it?
There is nothing that you can do to prevent this as it is a natural thing. It's very similar to the "sleep" (green phlegm) that we get in the corners of our eyes.

Same here, same here. I've heard that this stuff may be an indirect sign that the cat has worms. Do you know anything about it girls?

never heard this myself but my cats have always had it and getted wormed regular may ask my vet about it when im back in the uk and they can understand it Emotion: stick out tongue

I've never heard that, either. I haven't yet had a cat that didn't get those deposits in the corners of their eyes. You just don't always see it because they clean their little faces so often.
