When I walk my Poodle, our usual route is across a beach and of course he can't help having fun in the water. He swims in the ocean almost every day. Is it going to be very bad for his skin? I always dry him off with a towel afterwards and sometimes I give him a bathe too.

This is just my opinion, but based on owning poodles for at least 10 years.

If the water is clean, then your dog just needs a rinse to remove the salts. As always with poodles, special attention is needed for their ears - ie: towel dry them a little afterwards.

My poodles are obsessed with water, the happiness they feel keeps them healthy. Poodles are water hunting dogs, throw something in and let their instincts take over - they'll eventually begin to bring it back to you each time.

Let the dog live, and it will live longer.
