I just got a 9week old puppy. The lady said he was a terrier mix, but since it was a rescue I am not sure what kind of terrier he is. He has light blue eyes and a dark brown and white coat. any ideas?

Hi.Looking for answers I ended up here. Here is the problem:My tenants have big old fat German Sheperd .Literally-BIG FAT OLD and the dog doesn't get to go outside.Never.He goes on the floor and they flush it down the toilet. The smell is spread around the house evenly because of forced air heating ....I am ready to move out my own house....What can I do?Do I have the right to require them to walk their dog?The dog runs around the house making noise,barks...They live upstairs in 2 bedroom apartment with no access to the backyard. The dog takes one bedroom right above mine so I hear when it scratches its back.I am so sick and tired of the situation. What the heck people think getting a dog of the size in 2 bdrm apt in the city? There is no dog run or park nearby but it is not an excuse isn't it?Please help.

My daughter came home to her Bassett Hound dead in the back yard and her female boxer had blood on her. The Bassett had bite marks on his front legs - no where else. The Boxer has never showed agression...it didn't appear that she had tried to kill the Bassett....however he was gone. Will a dog bite another dog that has died in an attempt to get them to move or to see what's going on? I hate to think the boxer killed the hound - the hound was extremely laid back and the boxer is really sweet and gentle.

Hi to all, Does anybody know what the best guard dog breeds are? I know that German Shephers and Doberman Pinschers are quite good but I am wondering what else choice do we have? What are the most popular guard dog breeds?

I'm a first time dog owner with a medium sized apartment and no yard. My husband has had dogs, but since he is in the military i will be with the dog for almost a year on my own. Are there any dog breeds that would be good for a first time owner, and don't require a lot of space and exersize?

My chi likes to lick a lot. She will also hide toys that I buy for her to chew so she doesn't lick or chew her paws as much. She almost seems to be burying it, in a blanket, in the sofa.

Is there a law that states that you cant leave dogs roaming free in cars? I see so many dogs in the front or back seats. Could they be a distraction to the driver? Is it safe for both? Sometimes when Im driving I wonder about these things.

I think my kid has an allergy to our dog and I'm at my wit's end about what to do. I can't get rid of the dog nor can I leave my kid suffering. He itches and sneezes a LOT. Will that help if the dog's hair is trimmed to the shortest? Do you have any other tips please? I really don't know what to do.

I am thinking of getting a second King Charles Cavalier because I have a 2 year old male and wonder if he needs company. I am afraid he has been neutered. The choice is of male & female puppies. Is this a good idea? I am happy to look after a puppy, but would be doing this primarily because both dogs would be happier in a two... is this true? Any advice appreciated. Thank you. (I work from home so my Cavalier is rarely left alone, but I am often on the computer with my back to him!.. would a companion be a good idea?
