Yesterday morning a Lab showed up at our door. He's very beautiful, smart and friendly, and knows sit and lie down. I called the animal control and they gave me a number of a guy who lost a "light tan dog". I don't know if it's the owner because why didn't he say a Labrador? But I left a message there anyway. I've also given an ad in a newspaper. The dog seems to be a young adult or still a puppy. I saw him tore apart a plastic bag and swallow some, I couldn't do anything to my shame. How dangerous can this be? I suppose we had better puppy proof the yard for now. Also I don't know what's up with his legs. They are wobbly and he stumbles very often. How do we know if it's hip dysplasia? Thanks for reading.

Hi community, Ray's collars mess up his fur. Even if it's been taken off for a while you can still see the place it was on. I'm afraid it'll rub all his hair in the area and cause skin irritation. For this reason he doesn't wear a collar at home but when we're on walk only. I'm not sure if that's common or I have to do something. Ray is my first dog, a Lab.

We have a wonderful Shiba Inu and I know she likes me however her number one loved person is my husband. She'll keep turning around to greet him when he comes home and if he's in the garden while she's in, she'll do everything to just watch him. I know it's selfish but I'm so jealous! It was me who has always wanted a dog and now my husband gets much more love. Not fair! Has anyone ever felt this way?

Anyone tried squirting canned whipped cream into your dog's mouth? I did it yesterday and I loved his expression! Those crazy eyes. Also I'd like to ask, was it a bad idea in the first place?

One more question if I may. What is best for a dog, to have walks and exercise at a certain time every day or at random? I have flexible working hours so I can take him for a walk and exercise let's say every morning from 9am to 10-11am and every evening from 7pm to 8pm. Or I can take him for a walk randomly during the day, for example 9am to 10am on Monday, 7am to 8am on Tusday and so on with no established time. What would be better?

If your dog had a chance to do what he or she wants all day long, what would it be? I'm guessing mine would love be spend all day in a dog park playing fetch and having fun with other dogs.

my maltese jackie's got a wound on her left front foot. i'm not sure if it was a crack or she stepped on something sharp but i don't know how to help her in the best way. it happened this morning. bleeding isn't much but it starts when she's walked for a while. right now her paw is bandaged and i changed it once but i was wondering if something can be done to prevent bleeding and speed up healing?
