RE: Help with Yorkie Terrier who will not sleep alone page 8This is a discussion thread · 118 replies Chicha: [nq:1]or, you could work on teaching her "off" when it's convenient to you. IOW, don't wait until you want to have sex to train her! train her some other time.[/nq]I do but lazy, busy and have not much other time. [nq:1]1. it's very easy to teach a dog to get off the bed when you want it to.[/nq] Wish I were you. :-) [nq:1]2. the original poster was putting his dog in the bathroom at night. i think that's cruel.[/nq] I agree. [nq:1]maybe they would decide to let the dog sleep on the bed if they realized how easy it is to teach the dog to get off the bed when they want privacy?[/nq] Well the are tons of people that completely uninterested in dog's training. My friends own nice Golden that is not allowed to sleep in bedroom. I asked about that casually and she made such a laugh... They are married recently and passionately in love. Bed like Altar of Love I think. Things like that. Not exactly my case, anyhow. [nq:2]I do not expect much support on this last assertion, ... is extreme dog lovers (read: not exactly human beings). GR-R-R-R-R-R.[/nq] [nq:1]gee, thanks a lot.[/nq] Anytime. Thanks all for English lesson. Some tail wagging here. Nick (Chicha).

shelly: [nq:1]We TOLD you and TOLD you not to mess with that Krell machine. That it was for display purposes only. But, oh, no, YOU knew better. YOU wanted to be free from instrumentality.[/nq]Suja made me do it. [nq:1]Now see what happens? You've released another Monster of the ID onto r.p.d.b. Like we don't have enough of the damn things running around.[/nq] the more the merrier, right? shelly (perfectly foul wench) and elliott and harriet http://home.bluemarble.net/~scouvrette

shelly: [nq:1]Yeah, we wouldn't want to have another OT thread. yes, well, that particular thread wasn't a particularly pleasant experience the first time around. [nq:1]Damn, you're getting prickly.[/nq] not at all. it's just not high on my list of things i want to do right now. [nq:1]Besides, you already "revisited it" yourself when you claimed it was "very uncommon."[/nq] yes, in response to Ms. Giggly Pants who stated that people might not want to let their dogs sleep on the bed for fear of squashing them. the likelihood of that happening isn't very high. that doesn't mean that it doesn't happen, but i think i'll take that chance. i was mulling this over last night (an OCD thing, i guess. hi Kelly!). i suspect this may be a cultural/learned thing. i grew up with small critters sleeping on my bed. when i was 5yo my cat had kittens on my bed while i was sleeping. presumably she felt secure there and thought it was a good idea. i wonder if the fact that i've had cats sleeping in my crib/bed since i was a baby has meant that i've developed a subconscious awareness of their presence. there's not a chance in the world i'd actually roll over on a cat/dog/kid, no matter how small it was. i suspect the same is true of others who grew up with pets sleeping on the bed. [nq:1]I don't want to discuss anything with you until after you go back to your regular hours and become your usual cuddly, likeable self.[/nq] sorry, but this *is* my regular schedule. and, i've never been cuddly or particularly likable. HTH! [nq:1]Not if you turn into a vampire in the process... [/nq] i'm sure vampires are very nice in their own way. shelly (perfectly foul wench) and elliott and harriet http://home.bluemarble.net/~scouvrette

Marcel Beaudoin: [nq:1]i suspect the same is true of others who grew up with pets sleeping on the bed.[/nq]I never had anything sleeping on my bed other than me. Despite this, since Moogli was about 4 months old (and probably about 4 lbs), he has been sleeping on our bed. He was quick enough to realize that the safest plkaces to sleep are at the very foot of the bed, between a person's legs (they can't roll over if you are holding the covers down) or up near our heads. ** Marcel Beaudoin & Moogli ** 'To be, or not to be. *BOOM!* Not to be.' **

shelly: [nq:1]I never had anything sleeping on my bed other than me. Despite this, since Moogli was about 4 months old (and probably about 4 lbs), he has been sleeping on our bed.[/nq]and you haven't squashed him yet, have you? [nq:1]He was quick enough to realize that the safest plkaces to sleep are at the very foot of the bed, between a person's legs[/nq] my little theory is that, for people who grew up with pets sleeping in their beds, there is no "safe" zone the whole bed is safe. [nq:1](they can't roll over if you are holding the covers down)[/nq] sure you can! i can even do it in my sleep. [nq:1]or up near our heads.[/nq] that's cat-land, though harriet will occasionally put her head up on my pillow on "sleep in" mornings. if i sleep past the normal wake-up time, i usually wake up to find harriet's nose about 2mm away from mine and her staring a hole through my head. as soon as i open my eyes, the whole bed starts to vibrate from her nubbin wagging furiously. she tries *so* hard to be good! shelly (perfectly foul wench) and elliott and harriet http://home.bluemarble.net/~scouvrette

Or at least, if we have, he hasn't suffered any ill effects. [nq:2](they can't roll over if you are holding the covers down)[/nq] [nq:1]sure you can! i can even do it in my sleep.[/nq] I am impressed. When Moogli sleeps on top of the covers, between my legs (or Gen's legs) I can't roll over at all unless I make a real effort to do so. ** Marcel Beaudoin & Moogli ** 'To be, or not to be. *BOOM!* Not to be.' **
