I do hate people sometimes!

Hey there... sorry to post this but I need to vent my feelings!

I live near a pond and often have a walk out there to make some nice photos, to watch waterfowls, the water... and so forth. Unfortunately, almost every walk ends up with a stress because I see people who do not care AT ALL about the nature and animals we share the pond with!

Apart from lots of garbage they leave after having shashlik, nearly every walk I see one of those:

- some children throwing stones at ducks and even ducklings (!!!), while their moms are standing beside and DO NOT CARE AT ALL TO SAY A SINGLE WORD that it is a bad thing to do...

- some fishermen who may by accident get a duckling on the hook (I saw one yesterday)

I just don't get it how people can be so careless... or maybe I'm taking it to heart too much??

In general, the pond is a very nice place to live at... and there are also many kind people who feed ducks, make photos as well, enjoy watching young duck families withough causing any harm to them, etc. But those other bastards... they just... uff! Emotion: angry

Really? There is a small pond in my city as well - And everyone goes there to feed them! Emotion: smile
I used to feed them too when I was little, loved it!

Those children truly have to learn that they can't hurt animals that way, and I think everyone could tell them. You know, you get near them and say "Hey, do you know that it's not good to hurt them that way?" - I mean, you're teaching them something after all, their mothers shouldn't mind that...

Well, this is what we did eventually (my mom and I, since we were walking together). I can't just watch that and remain silent, you know. Emotion: smile But I doubt that they really got the idea of good and bad behaviour.
However, when my parents were walking together once (in a different park), they also saw two boys (10-12 years old) that were going to throw stones into ducks. My dad told them then something like, "Hey what if I now pick up a stone and throw it into you, will you like that?" Surprisingly, the boys ceased any attempts to throw right away!

Oh by the way, the duckling I mentioned in the post above seemed fine in the end. The fisherman released him and let him go. I hope that everything ended up well with him (he looked quite healthy and undamaged when running back to mama).
