carol,
the point is that every cat is different and every case is different, i think its like people, i have a net friend who is a total v egan... nocheese, milk or eggs... certainly no meat fish or poultry... and in her words... "if this stuff so abuses my system then it stands to reason that there are others in a differing ggene poole that require eating things with a face to survive...
same with cats... trudi would starve before she ate wet food, as it is she eats just enough dry to survive, the only thing she really likes is kittem food and the odd b it of dairy, my point is that while there are patterms and generalities, there are still individual differences and know what worked for your cat could help me do research to help my cat... telling me if i do differently than you do just instills guilt and anxiety that is not only not warrented its just rude and wrong... i am sure there are cats that need wet only... like kyla's mosey, he hurkes every time he gets he teeth on dry...

mathew is just thinking of the links because i have wined in the past about following links and he treats me like a little sister, we have weight issues in common so are very sensitive to anything that seems a slight to either of us, he is a good guy, Lee
[nq:2]Lee you want me to tell her or should you about your eye sight[/nq]
[nq:1]Is it needed? Lee is perfectly capable of handling herself. I mention it only when a technical issue on reply ... you just seemed to treat her as a child here and she isnt. Lee can easily call someone a )&*[/nq]^%^ ((^if she

Hehe ok, he's on the 'good guy list' here then. I only reacted because I percieved a slight on you which may not have been true. Glad to see I just didnt interpret it right.

no slight was intended, but one of the reasons i like you is because you are concerned about people you like, a very good trait indeed, Mathew tortured us once in the rpca group by posting recipe after recipe that would make even the most strict of eaters drool, after that thread i think i gained like ten pounds just from reading... and was dehydrated too from the drooling, Lee

Totally I agree.
[nq:1]same with cats... trudi would starve before she ate wet food, as it is she eats just enough dry to ... there are cats that need wet only... like kyla's mosey, he hurkes every time he gets he teeth on dry...[/nq]
Same here with some of the cats i have had. I converted the current one to wet, but over time and because she accepted the shift. She was perfectly healthy I think on the dry (eukanaba brand mostly). I've had others (40 years of cats) that did not want to convert and would not consider wet food as 'food'.
Snicker, whrn the cat pushes a 50 lb dog out of the way to grab his dry kibble and ignores her wet, ya kinda got a cat that wants dry (and a very tolerant dog).
Every now and again, Daisy-cat demands dry kibble. Cash-pup just sighs and tolerantly lets her grab 3-4 out of his bowl and munch them while he gobbles the rest. If she finishes first, she inserts her head and grabs one more.
I try to give her dry kibble treats (cat dry food) often enough to make her happy. She's happy at about once a week getting dry and it has the 'cat stuff' she needs that dog kibble doesnt.

you know that is a question i never researched but is curious to me, i know cats need different things than dogs, but they do seem to like to sample the other's food... not ever having cats and dogs indoors at the same time i never looked into it... but i am wondering if there is anything in either food that is detrimental to the other... just something i wondered about from time to time but never got around to researching... and never remember when i am at my bet's to ask her... OEJ goes back for another blood draw in a week or so i am going to try and remember to ask her.

[nq:1]Lee is a friend if mine but like me, she's bit hit with enough 'check out my version of a whacked ut but must be true' website she may not have checked it.[/nq]
Which whacked out sites are you talking about? ???
[nq:1]Lord knows Char in another group seems to assume I want to absorb every word she/he has on some of the wacked out odd ball sites. I bet theree was a hard search to find ones that agreed with her stance.[/nq]
Which sites are you talking about? I honestly am unaware of "whacked" sites.
[nq:1]Lee is not a kid. If her searches show different, you might wanna look if you are focusing on ones that support your view.[/nq]
I don't look for anything to support my view. What sites are there that show cat's are
not obligate carnivores and thrive on grains and other foods not meant for carnivores?
I have not seen any such sites.

[nq:2]Some of these non-smoking lung cancer victims were exposed to ... things other than smoking can and do cause lung cancer.[/nq]
[nq:1]Sure. And people were dying from lung cancer for thousands of years..Long before either tobacco or asbestos came along. Also, ... cancer. So where do these statistics come from? - I think they are a figment of some advertising executive's imagination.[/nq]
That may be true. Who knows. I quit smoking to give myself better odds of not
getting lung cancer. It's also saved me a bundle of money. ;-)

[nq:2]BTW, I quit smoking years ago when smokers I knew started to die of smoking related diseases.[/nq]
[nq:1]I wish I could say that..I only quit when they banned smoking in the buildings where I worked, and my job required me to remain inside the buildings for long periods at a time..[/nq]
At least you finally quit. When my husband was diagnosed with the start of bronchitis and emphysema.. he quit pronto! That was about a year ago. His cough went away and he can breathe much better now.
