I'm not sure which is the number one, but Persians, Maine Coons and Ragdolls are known to be very popular.

In fact the most popular cats are the domestic shorthair and domestic longhair but they are not accepted as breeds by any cat association. Emotion: wink

Exotic Shorthairs are very popular too because you get a laid back cat that doesn't need a lot of brushing.
