My female red heeler?

I have a female red heeler and she is now 1 and 1/2 years old. She has recently been rubbing her face and head in the grass. She did this before when she was younger but only once or twice but she has been doing this for the last two days now. We are just wondering why would she be doing this?

There can be different reasons. For example, your heeler simply feels good or she's very excited and, literally, doesn't know what to do with herself. Emotion: smile

It can also be self-massage or a way to play. Many dogs do that, by the way, and there is usually nothing wrong with this behaviour. However, sometimes it is a sign of an allergy, and the dog tries to itch herself like any other living creature would do. So, if you think this behaviour becomes abnormal, you can always show her to a vet. But I'm sure your dog is fine.
