RE: New tactic page 5This is a discussion thread · 64 replies Judith Althouse: JackI had hopes that some day, some way, exactly what you said may occur and that is that someone here would actually discuss one of Cesar's client and their issues? I am still waiting. Even if they said I would have done this instead of what Cesar did. The same subjects just go on and on. I can repeat them verbatim. Let's see there is The friggin disclaimer, the money he makes, etc etc. I really truly don't get it for all of the people that disapprove you would think they would have some details behind it. Oh yeah, the other thing we keep discussing is how much money he makes. The many law suits to come. I really am interested in some of his episodes and would love to hear alternatives other points of views. Your point was well taken. I wish someone would pick up on it, as you said this is primarily a dog behavior group, yes we all get off topic..but we never seem to get ON topic when it comes to discussing Cesar and how he addresses a screwed up owner and/or their dog. You can have a CM message delivered to your cell phone and he is going to have webinars (50.00 deposit). I don't think he is going away this year. We discuss all the harm he does and the danger he puts owners in. What would you do instead of what he does? I see a problem right off the bat, lots of folks that bash him don't watch him, so that makes it hard to discuss. Be Free, Judy

[nq:1]The same subjects just go on and on.[/nq] It's kind of dumb to complain about what others are discussing. TaraG: [nq:1]Jack I had hopes that some day, some way, exactly what you said may occur and that is that someone ... their issues? I am still waiting. Even if they said I would have done this instead of what Cesar did.[/nq]Well, there are at least three of you who seem to watch his shows regularly (perhaps more). I really don't see what's preventing you from discussing whatever you wish to discuss. What you are doing here is as "bad" as what you are complaining about in others, nothing but talking (over and over again) about what you don't like..except you guys are taking it one step further and doing nothing but critiquing the critics. It sounds like you want others to discuss this for you. Why would you expect others to do what you won't? [nq:1]We discuss all the harm he does and the danger he puts owners in.[/nq] Because, frankly, that's the widest visible impact that *I* ever see from his show..and that, in my book, is a very VERY big deal. If you have other viewpoints, or a differing viewpoint, then feel free to discuss them at length. I certainbly don't spend an inordinate amount of time trying to tell you what you ought to be posting about (except for this one post, and my focus here is merely to point out hypocrisy rather than to tell you what to post) [nq:1]What would you do instead of what he does? I see a problem right off the bat, lots of folks that bash him don't watch him, so that makes it hard to discuss.[/nq] That's why I don't discuss his methods. I discuss the impacts that I see (on an increasing, and now daily, basis), of his show on his viewers. You may not think what people walk away with is important, but I think its kind of the entire point. Tara

If you want to describe how he handles a certain situation or behavior problem, I'll be happy to let you know my opinion of it. For what it's worth, "tssst" isn't original Cesar either. I've been doing it for years; it's especially effective when DH is on nights and distractions/corrections must be quiet. I even use variations of the sound depending on what's going on. I must be a genius! Mustang Sally

TaraG: [nq:1]I certainbly[/nq]I swear my spellcheck program lays awake nights just thinking up new ways to make me look silly. Or ways to let my own silliness slip by :-) Tara (and, yes, my spellcheck is supposed to automatically kick in upon hitting "send". It hates me. I just know it)

I must be a genius![/nq] I'm even geniuser! I use a sharp intake of breath that I came up with all on my own! And I used it just now on a Pug that startled the bejeezus out of me when he yiped at a SCWT. In this case, it was a correction and not a distraction. Fear not! He got over it in nanoseconds. FWIW, I watch Cesar every once in a while and don't have a problem with him. In fact, I love watching particulary clueless owners because they demonstrate a probably all-too-common-lacks- common-sense owner. I have a issue, though, with those who take his show as the only gospel. He's just another source to distill into one's own repertoire. Matt. Rocky's a Dog.

Judith Althouse: Shelly,I wanted to let you know that once again I have given wrong info. Remeber I told you I thought Cesar announced that the owners put down a Chi and maybe it was NuNu? I also said he announced it after a later segment. I was wrong all the way around and I wanted to let you know. It was a pair of Min Pins named Victoria and ?. The owner was wacko and appeared terrified of dogs. Sorry, I was reading and half *** paying attention. He announced immediately following the segment that he found out the family opted to put down Victoria. He felt she could have been saved. I wish I could give you clear info on what Victoria was doing but the woman was such a damn fool. I just don't remember. I know Cesar was fighting the owner about when to show affection after Victoria and the other dog walked on leash. Did anyone see that episode and could give info about why Victoria was considered unable to be trained (by the owners)? Shelly, even if no one else has input. I just wanted you to know it was not NuNu. Sorry, Judy Be Free, Judy
