Just got back from the SPCA in Malta and brought home the info needed to sponsor one of the animals Big dilemma! Which one should we sponsor? It's going to be a difficult choice, hoping you all will help us! We had originally decided that we'd sponsor Mopsy after reading about her, however, she has found a home! A lady at the SPCA told me that Mopsy used to always hide in the corner when visitors came. But one day this man came and Mopsy came right out to greet him and he took her home! It was so nice to hear that So, which of the 4 dogs and one cat should we sponsor?

Hi guys, Here's a good movie about genetically modified food. Please watch and spread the awareness. At 36:15, there's an interview with a veterinarian who raises concerns about genetically modified corn and soybeans in pet food being the primal cause of lots of health issues cats and dogs suffer from.

What the actual difference between cruelty in nature and cruelty caused by humans? I mean, there are really a lot of talks about how cruel people can be sometimes and that it has to be changed. But let's look at Mother Nature itself: there are always hunters and the hunted and the weakest are always dead, a lion can kill another lion's cubs (when a new leader comes), spiders eat each other, as well as mantises and many others, the world of meerkats is way too cruel too (unwanted newborns must be killed by their own mom, or both the mom and her cubs will be banished from the clan and die anyway)... I can go on but I guess these examples are enough. So the question is, perhaps cruelty is the normal state of things and people will never change, just because our Mother Nature is built on cruelty itself? I'm talking about Corrida, slaughters, eating animals, fur industry, skinning animals alive in China, sport hunting, and so on. Are we really so different from nature? Any opinions are welcome.

I've just learnt that today, 1st March, is an International Cat Day in Russia. I don't quite understand why it's called "international" while we seem the only ones that "celebrate" it but whatever! I hope kitties from all over the world will have a bit of fun and treats today. That's interesting: World Cats Day is celebrated in the USA on October 29th, in Russia on March 1st, and in Poland on February 17th. Wikipedia says the World Cat Day is on August 8th. Isn't it all a bit confusing? LOL

Hi guys, There are many talks about quality food for pets but I'd like to ask you about quality food for us, people. I've tried to search for organic food suppliers and stores in Moscow, and I found them. However, the prices there are just inhumane! I've heard organic food is more expensive, so I did expect it to be more expensive. I was psychologically ready to pay. But what I saw was a little too much in my opinion. For example, 10 eggs cost about 0.75 to 1.25 €. 10 organic eggs cost 4.75 €. 1 L cow milk costs 1 to 1.5 €. 1 L organic cow milk is 3 €. 1 kg beef cost 10 €. 1 kg organic beef of the same kind is 32.5 €. I've realized we just cannot afford eating organic food every day. It can only be an occasional "delicacy", which is obviously not enough to maintain good health. Are the prices as high in your country/city, and I'm just over-reacting? I imagined the people who care about other people's health would sell something a little more available to everyone. P.S. What's also upsetting is that there's always a chance you'll buy the same stuff you can find in a supermarket, but you'll buy it for an enormous price. I don't know if this is the case in other countries but this is how it can be in Russia.

I was taking my usual morning walk. I saw a cute dog and I wanted to take a photo. The owner, the lady with the dog: " Are you taking pictures? " Me: " Yes, Madam, but of the dog ". Her: Oh, no, please, don't take pictures of my dog! Have you already taken pictures of it? Me: yes, one. Her: Please, delete it! She comes towards me and wants to see the picture. I showed her my cell phone and I deleted the picture I had already taken of her dog. I was listening to music. I raised the volume in order to not hear anymore what she is saying and went away. I was disappointed Maybe she was right, the dog is hers and if she doesn't want someone takes pictures of her or her dog, it's okay, obviously. I shouldn't. I took soo many pictures of so many dogs. I just adore taking pictures of dogs. I adore dogs! That lady is the first person who told me not to take a picture of her dog. I saw other dogs after that but I didn't dare to take a pic anymore. It is 'ugly'.
