Oscar the featherless birdThis is a discussion thread · 3 replies I was quite stunned when I first saw the video, but after reading Oscar's story, I'm glad that she got into good hands and lives in a good home. She looks very bizarre but... it makes her very special, doesn't it? Taken from the video description: Oscar has a rare virus that causes her to pull out her feathers because they irritate her. She has survived 12 years so far. And yes, Oscar is a girl. It was a year before Humane Society workers determined through a blood test that what they thought was male, was truly female, and it was too late to change names. YgNpkfKRQ-k Oh... I've never heard of any viruses like that! Good to know Oscar is well-taken care of. Amazing bird. ![]() Regular Participant108 | Have a question? People are waiting to help. Interesting stuff |
