I went with the idea that I'd bring NOTHING home but what I brought with me, my beardie Mr. Gimpy...
I was given a free adult male rosy boa. Lovely fellow.

I wound up bringing home Cat's 3 Sonoran boa babies that didn't sell... for housing until next week's show. One gaped and hissed at me! Feisty for such a little one!
I also brought home a subadult savannah monitor for halfway housing. She's emaciated & dehydrated but oh-so-sweet. Snuggled with me all day at the show, and fell asleep twice in my arms. What a snuggly lizard! I am NOT keeping her. Emotion: smile

Heck, I turned down 2 common snappers and 2 alligator snappers!

I did, however, get really really desperate at the end and did a Bad Thing. I bought something for the sake of buying something, because my birthday was this weekend, and in the WHOLE show, I couldn't find one thing that I actually wanted! So, when Derek came by saying "I can't believe I couldn't sell my snake for just $10!", I caved and got a baby amelanistic corn snake. But it's definitely growing on me, and Tommy didn't even get that upset when I showed up at the door with my first snake. He may even like it someday. I'm still getting my Argentine boa, though. :-P
So I'm setting up the snake in a 10 gallon tomorrow. For tonight, everyone has to live without me, because I'm going to crash hard. I did just under 80 hours at work this week! Worked every day, and three nights past 2 am. I feel sorry for my bosses, they worked even harder. But we did our best show ever. Next year's should be incredible!

I came home with two azureus dart frogs and a lot of supplies. I blame you, fr0glet, for giving me the frog bug. Emotion: wink

Nah! I don't believe in luck. Emotion: smile
As it turned out, I had been talking with another gal about reptile rescue & PNHS while we were breaking down the Talltree booth... and this lady walked up and said "I overheard you talking... can you take this rosy boa? I was asking $75 for him but it sounds like you can give him a good home and I don't want to take him home".

Yeah, saw the pics w/ the crazy color morphs & stuff. Emotion: smile

I'm not suprised they didn't sell... they pretty much look like red tails and have the latin name B.c. imperator printed right on there... I bet if they were priced at about what red tails go for then we'd find them a home. Hooray for a second show next week!

LOL! To be honest, I didn't even notice. I was really short on cash, having spent all of it on buying frozen mice from the talltree booth, so I spent the whole time wandering around and asking who would take a credit card. Finally on the second day, I just broke down and wrote checks, for which I'll have to scurry down to my other bank tomorrow to transfer some cash so that I can cover them.

Sure? Oh-so-sweet, snuggling and snuggly doesn't sound like 'I don't want it' but rather the opposite. Emotion: smile So, are you really really sure?
