Hi folks, our dachshund puppy is 7 months old and her breath, especially after sleeping, is absolutely horrible. We brush her teeth which makes it a little better but that only lasts until she sleeps again. We feed her Innova Natural Puppy food, both dry and canned. What could be causing this, any ideas?

The most common causes of bad breath in puppies are:

- teeth and gum problems, do they look healthy?
- teething, but this doesn't seem to be your case because by 7 months a puppy should already have full dentation,
- eating poop,
- parasites and worms,
- grooming the anal area.

If you're not sure what exactly causes it, better seek a vet's help.
