So my cat has these scabs around his neck and shoulders. The fur around them looks fine, with no changes, so I have no idea how long they've been there. I noticed them by accident when I was brushing him yesterday. I tried to rub some off just to see if they come off easily, and some did. The skin underneath looks clean as if the scab was never there. This is so strange! Can it be that he just got dirty in something?
No. Actually it sounds like it could be an allergy to something. Is it an outdoor cat? Does he wear a flea collar? If he's indoor only, what kind of foods are you feeding? Is it grain free? Too many grains do this a lot, cause skin allergies.

That sounds like dried blood to me... Perhaps your cat got a few cuts or scratches and they cured by now. If she's outdoor it's not unlikely. But an allergy can be the case too like alfinnlay said!
