Hello everybody!
For 2 1/2 weeks now I have a small Djungarian dwarf hamster (female) with me. She is very young (8 weeks), agile and alert. She lives in a cage with dimensions 1mx50cmx50cm.

Three things make me a little worried now though, and I hope to find some help here! She is my first hamster and sometimes I'm a bit puzzled.

1) She will climb up her cage and onto the top of her cage only to fall down - I think that's looks very dangerous ... can she hurt herself? After all, this is a height of 50cm! How can I stop her?
2) She has a certain place in the cage where she gnaws often on the bar - I've hung a wooden chew but she still does it - what does this mean? Is she bored, does she want to get out?
3) Since she is very active (her wheel she uses but not very often), I would like to start with letting her out a bit - but is it a bit too early after 3 weeks? She is not tamed.

I love my little girl very much and want her to be happy.
Thank you for the answers!
