Hi. A while ago I posted some information about my neighbor who artificially inseminated a female Mastiff with the semen from a male Chihuahua.
I just wanted to announce that the breeding was successful. The Mastiff gave birth to two puppies.
The updated info is on the breeder's website:

I will keep you posted in the future as I promised.

Can a breed be created that way? With just one mixed dog?

Hey, it's registered with the CKC (and I'm betting that's not the Canadian Kennel Club)... isn't that all the evidence needed?

All they'll wind up accomplishing is undoing all of the selectivity bred into these 2 individual lines, and will likely wind up with a mongrel mutt just like any other mongrel mutt out there. Take a look at "Satan's Grandpa" and you'll see a standard mutt.
If they were not selecting for "meanness" and an "evil" look and disposition, I'd say that these mutts would be as sweet as any other mutts, but what they're aiming for with their new "breed" is troubling and morally unsound.

Exactly. And the page says that they plan to breed that dog to several different mastiff bitches in order to create a new breed. I don't know much about making a dog breed, but even I can't figure that one out. It doesn't even seem intuitive. I mean, if you want to create a "satan's mastiff" breed wouldn't it be better to cross several different Chihuahua dogs and Mastiff bitches and then pick from those offspring to start breeding the "new breed" from?

Agreed. The bit about "fangs should be visible even with mouth closed" screams juvenile-minds with too much time and money on their hands.

Thank God that Mastiffs have notoriously small litters. If it were not all so sad and disgusting, that website and all written in it, would be very funny.
