Voiceless conure!!This is a discussion thread · 15 replies 1 2 Anonymous: My peach fronted conure seems to have lost his voice! He hasn't said a thing since this morning and instead of vocalizing, he just makes a little tiny little squeak. I called the vet and I am awaiting a call back, but everything else seems perfectly normal. He is playing, eating, drinking...anyone ever hear of this before?! It seems so weird to me.-Ken

Mika loves popped corn, so I sit there and pick all the hulls off! Definitely do confer with the vet.

Anonymous: I think I'm going to have to take him to emergency now. He seems to be pumping his tail up and down a little bit. He may have an upper respiratory infection!-Ken

Jangchub: Oh Ken, please let us know what happened. I will have you in my thoughts and prayers. There's nothing worse than when our pets get sick.

Anonymous: I took him to the Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ and he didn't seem to be doing too well. I think he might have some kind of infection similar to our pneumonia or bronchitis because his breathing is occasionally labored, but he has no mucus on his nostrils. We left him there overnight and they had him on oxygen and he seemed pretty stable when I left and I haven't heard anything so I hope that means that he survived the night. I will have to call them today at about 10AM to see what's going on.I feel so bad for him! He's just a little baby! Only 11 weeks. I just got him less than 3 weeks ago! When we left him he seemed to be in okay spirits, but he was having some trouble breathing. The vet says we just have to keep him on oxygen in the hospital and see what's up. -Ken

Anonymous: He's on the way home! But he's not totally out of the woods, but he is doing MUCH better. We are going to take him over to our vet and see what he has to say. I'm still a little worried because his voice has yet to return, but he seems to be in better spirits and to not be having such difficulties in breathing.-Ken
