[nq:1]Um, that's what an "expected value" problem is - the sum of each of the possible outcomes weighted by its likelihood.[/nq]
Yes, Melinda, I went to school too- and even if I hadn't I would have understood what "expected value" meant from context.

I was simply adding what *I* think of as being the most important factor, since what you mentioned as being most important was the ability to attend classes etc.

[nq:1]OT: Lia has a quilt show (group show) opening soon! I wish I was close enough to make the opening. The pictures on the postcard are fab! Beth[/nq]
I wish I could go to the quilt show.

I sent cards to everyone I remembered to copy down a return address for from the group project. If you'd like a card and didn't get one, I'll need a snail address from you.
The group project top is complete. At some point in the next few days, I'll sandwich the top, batting and back together with safety pins. That's a project since it means finding some place with a big enough table that can stand being scratched with pins. From there, it is smooth sailing to do the machine quilting.

Gwen, going to one of Lia's "quilt shows" is like going on a Snipe Hunt.
She gives you a gunny sack, a flashlight, sometimes a whistle, and then takes you deep into the woods, looking for quilts...

Those are beautiful. I wish I had the patience and the talent to do something like quilting.

You say that like dog training doesn't take patience and talent and doesn't create a beautiful result. Quiltmaking is a matter of enjoying it enough to stay with it, taking enough classes to learn one skill after another and practicing enough to master a few motor skills akin to bike riding or swimming. And fabric. One must invest in scads and scads of fabric.

[nq:1]Has anyone here heard of this new neutering method? http://www.snapus.org/site/PageServer?pagename=Neutersol Apparantly Austin is in contest with Houston, LA and Altanta ... sound as though the dog is actually neutered but rather sterilized permanantly. Which means the hormones will still be churning.[/nq]
Here:
http://www.neutersol.com
It says the drug atrophies the testes and prostate permanently. If that's the case, there will be no hormones.

Whoops. Testosterone isn't completely eliminated. Sorry.
