Physical characteristics

Basically, the Asian cat has the same physical characteristics as the Burmilla and Bombay, but comes in a larger range of colours and patterns.

Temperament

Like Burmillas, Asian cats are playful, affectionate, intelligent and devoted. They make good companions for families with children, elderly people and other pets. Even when they're mature, they won't refuse messing around like a naughty kitten. They are not very vocal, but if they need something, you will surely get to know about it. Some individuals are more people-oriented whereas the others are more independent and aloof.

Coat and grooming

There are shorthair and longhair varieties of the Asian cat.
Asian Shorthairs come in four different patterns: the Asian Self (including the Bombay - a black Asian Self), the Asian Tabby, the Asian Smoke and the Shaded Asian (known as the Burmilla). Occasional grooming should be fine for the shorthair Asians.
Asian Longhairs are called Tiffanies, and they come in the same colours and patterns as the shorthair variety. Weekly grooming is necessary for the longhair Asians.
