The oldest rabbit on record was a wild rabbit named Flopsy, who was caught on August 6, 1964, and died 18 years and 10 months later in Tasmania, Australia.
The oldest ferret on record was about 15 years old. Some people say it was 14 years old. Today, some ferret owners claim their pet is 14 years old. This means that, even though a ferret's average longevity is 7 to 9 years, longer life spans are not so rare.
One of the websites we've looked through says that "according to the Guinness Book of Records, the oldest budgerigar ever lived in England. He was called Charlie, and he reached the ripe old age of 29 years and 2 months."
There are quite a few reports of Cockatiels living as long as 32 years. The oldest confirmed Cockatiel was 36 years old.
It is said a female Blue-and-yellow Macaw named Charlie hatched in 1899, and she was the oldest living Macaw as of 2010 (111 years old). Unfortunately, we have found updated information about Charlie.
The oldest lovebird on record was 17 years old. According to some websites, there are reports about lovebirds living 25 years, but this cannot be confirmed.
There are records about a canary named Dick that was born in 1863 and died in 1887 being 24 years old. Dick's long life was attributed to his diet. He was given a little meat three or four times a week, particularly during summer. Dick was never given sugar or anything sweet.
Oldest amazon parrot
There are reports about an amazon parrot that lived 119 years. We've not managed to find confirmation of this fact, which, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's false.
Oldest zebra finch
The oldest zebra finch on record was 17 years old. There are also mentions about birds over 14 years old currently living.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the oldest hamster lived for 7 years.
Oldest pet mouse
A dwarf lab mouse at the Southern Illinois University Cabondale Vivarium lived 4 years 11 months and 3 weeks. The mouse died in January 2003.
Oldest pet rat
There are reports about pet rats that lived about 7 years. Unfortunately, we've not managed to find more detailed information.
Oldest guinea pig
The oldest guinea pig on record was 15 years old.
Oldest bearded dragon
The oldest bearded dragon on record was 21 years old.
Oldest leopard gecko
A well-fed gecko can live 10 to 20 years. The oldest leopard gecko on record lived 27 years.
Oldest turtle (tortoise)
It's commonly known that turtles and tortoises can live over 100 years. The oldest tortoise ever is thought to be Adwaita, a male Aldabra giant tortoise, which died on 23th March 2006. His estimated age was 255 years. Other notable tortoises are Tu'i Malila (1777 - May 19, 1965) and Harriet (1830 - June 23, 2006).
The oldest pet snake on record is a ball python that lived 48 years.
The oldest spider, according to Guinness World Records, lived to be 49 years old.
