when a cat holds its straight tail up high what does it mean? alertness or curiosity?
Excitement, contentment, or happiness. Here is a good illustration:
Anonymous  That's not a bad diagram. I have to disagree with a couple of them, though. Sometimes the tail isn't a good indicator without the ears; the cat may have some issue (especially a housecat, because they get stepped on!) with certain tail positions.

Hi, I know this topic has been covered over and over but we just got a puppy, a Saint Bernard, and she's 9 and a half weeks and we've had her for almost 6 days. She's great, but she bites very hard, and has temper tantrums daily. We've tried a ...

Anonymous Thank you for your reply. I guess really the biggest problem is my fear that she'll get bigger and still be biting, plus we've had a Saint Bernard before who really didn't have a biting problem, just a chewing furniture problem. Also, those walks ...

Wow I had no idea you have to buy drinkable water! By which parameters the filtered water is considered inappropriate for drinking? I would actually love to have a look at the results of that water filter. I thought European countries all had ...

About me

I am mainly a cat person, although I like all animals and species. I have a 18-year old cat Barsik that we rescued when I was about 8. It was me and my brother who brought him home. My fav dog breeds are the Husky and German Shepherd. I'm also fond of photography.
