Are there any natural things I can use to wash my dog with? I don't want to use the shampoos that you can buy because of synthetic and toxic materials in them. Would love to hear some ideas, thank you.
I've moved the thread to the right section. Emotion: smile
Anonymous Some shampoos in the market are labled "organic", how do I know they are really organic and without chemicals?

Read ingredient list maybe and read reviews in internet? Ingredients can be confusing though, there are many weird words and I often get lost.  ...

Do you agree with breeders that ask you to keep a certain breed ONLY on a certain brand of food or ONLY on a raw diet etc?
 Hi,
If it's a raw diet I agree, then. But it's true for all dogs and even cats, not several particular breeds.
If it's a particular brand, then I'd go suspicious and would rely on my knowledge, Google and common sense.

I haven't met such breeders but if I had I'd ask him many questions about why he thinks like that!
Anonymous It sounds a little nonsense to me. Every dog is different within the same breed, some are more active and some are less, some have better health and some worse. Feeding them all the very same thing doesn't meet an individual dog's needs. Although ...

What are the common ways dogs can get worms? Can I protect my dog and prevent worms instead of deworming?
 Hi peeps.
I have follow up question. Has anyone heard about medications or remedies that would prevent getting worms even if dog has eaten eggs? In contrast to deworming medicines that deal with consequences.
Raphael this was so helpful, thanks! I had no idea how easily dogs can get worms! We got a new puppy just a week ago and hopefully she'll stay worm free.
 Hi,
Andreas, I can be mistaken but there are only some medications to prevent two types of worms - heartworms and whipworms. They have to be given either daily or monthly. They work by killing worm larvae. I don't know their names so you had better ...

We had our 9 months old pup neutered last week and we've noticed he has become more aggressive towards our two cats. Is it natural or something went wrong? Any help will be appreciated.
If I'm not mistaken it can happen with female dogs because of hormones. Spaying reduces the production of progesterone which is known to have calming effect so increased aggression is result of this. I don't know about male dogs though!
Andreas does this mean spaying female dogs doesn't reduce aggressive behavior? We have a female puppy 4 months old and we have to decide about spaying, if we'll do it and when. I hope she doesn't ever develop aggression problems but it's the first ...
 Hi,
I've heard stories like this before. Here are my thoughts about why this can be happening.
Neutered dogs are injured after surgery, and they have to be defensive to hide the fact they are not at full health. In the wild injury means weakness, ...

Hi peeps. Rino had an accident yesterday on the carpet. It happened in the evening. Should I take it as marking territory or he just couldn't hold his pee? He is 2 years old and he had accidents before too but they are not often.
 Hi,
If he's neutered and if he has accidents before, I'd say it's an accident.
R
He's neutered and fortunately he's not had accidents since this last time after which I made the above post. Thanks for your reply!
