I just read that some people use chewing tobacco to get rid of parasites in pets! Sounds a bit absurd to me because afaik, nicotine is poison for animals right? So how does that work?
 nicotine is definitely toxic. a vet told me the toxic dose for cats is 0.5-1 mg per pound of body weight and the lethal dose is 4 mg per pound.
Anonymous Are there actually any cats that died from this? I know a family who have been giving small amounts of chewing tobacco mixed with food to their cats for years and they all have always been fine&wormless. I wonder if toxicity of tobacco is ...
 i don't know about such incidents but i would not risk my cat's health.
