We have a 6 month old male Weimaraner, who is a perfectly behaved dog when someone is around him. However, we both work full time and we are finding it near impossible to be able to leave him for 8 hours a day. We have another dog who he is very attached to, who is always with him through out the day. He has severe crate anxiety, to the point he broke his puppy teeth chewing on the crate, pees, poops, and vomits because he is so anxious. When we come home from leaving him for an hour, he is covered in his own feces and vomit. So, we tried leaving him out in the house, with everything picked up so he had nothing but his toys to chew on. The first few times, he was perfectly fine. Then after those few times, we came home to a destroyed couch. The time after that, a destroyed chair. We fear crating him for the fact he will hurt himself, but also can not have him tearing up the whole house. Any advice is appreciated!!!
