I did indeed end up leaving Harriet with EEELB and GF. So far, she's been pretty good. Not too whiney, but a little bit clingy. It sounds like she's mostly enjoying herself, though. EEELB and GF had a dinner party last night, so it'll be interestnig to find out how Harriet dealt with the barbarian hoards.
I have been going through puppy withdrawl. It feels very odd to be off my dog walking and potty break schedule. I keep feeling like I'm forgetting something important. I don't know how y'all who travel frequently can stand it. It's not so much that I'm suffering from separation anxiety, as much as the fact that my dog-centric schedule is all fuxored.
But, I'm spending tonight at my aunt and uncle's house, and OHMYGOD they have a Boston! Not just *a* Boston, either, but the absolute cutest and feistiest little Boston I've ever met. I got some much needed puppy therapy, and will be taking lots o' peechurs of Jazzy tomorrow. I threatened to dognap her, but I don't think I could get away with it.
That is all. As you were, comrades.

It is!
EEELB has been good about calling in updates. He's been taking Harriet jogging every morning, which she's enjoying. He's threatening to not give her back, though, which is *so* not gonna happen.
Harriet will be thrilled to see you and you'll have a great time. Especially with puppy breath waiting in the wings.

It will be nice to get home, for sure.

Grandpa has a brand new iMac, and boy does it ever suck. Safari doesn't seem to do tabs, though I did figure out how to make a new window pop up. There is, of course, no right clicking, so there is a huge amount of functionality that seems to be missing. It may be there, but damned if I can find it. And it took three of us to figure out how to turn the stupid thing on yesterday. Let's not even talk about my experience copying DVDs. I finally managed it, but I think it gave me a migraine. Considering how spendy they are (I replaced my last computer for about $300!), I don't think I'll be turning into a Mac convert anytime soon.
About the only nice things I can say are that I like the little scrolly button at the center of the mouse. A lot. I also am happy that the raised buttons on the keyboard have moved to the "proper" place, under the index fingers.

I've got six tabs open in Safari right now (command-T, not control-T).

Try control-click. If it really bugs you most cheap USB mice will work with OS X.
Look the stuff is there, but you have to know how to use it. And complaining that it doesn't have the same user interface as Windows, well .. in the words of our lolcats friends, OMGWTF? You may not like it but that doesn't equate to "it sucks." It just means you don't like it.

Command T for tabs - check the preferences: Grandpa may not "know" tabbage.

If he doesn't have a two button mouse, control click for right clicking. I have to do that on the laptop (when we're not in the office).
