Has some dog-related stuff, with the "Dirty Jobs" program focusing on working as a handler at a big racing kennel (Martin Buser's - an extremely charismatic guy). If nothing else it's an opportunity to find out how someone with that many dogs gets rid of their dog poop. The new season of "The Alaska Experience" is starting as well - no dog stuff but I thought it was pretty great last year. They drop a bunch of people with limited outdoors experience in wilderness Alaska and have them live there for a month or six weeks, and see how they cope. In this year's variation they'll be told to hike out.

Do you guys get Mantracker? I'd like to see an Alaskan episode. http://www.mantracker.ca /

Matt. Rocky's a Dog.

Not to my knowledge - looks great. I think Alaska would be a lot like BC or the YT, depending on where in Alaska. Mantracker should put episodes online for those of us deprived down here in the US.
Discovery is also rerunning their Iditarod show from last year's race.

Someone who went on our Easter morning hike told us that the Iditarod had its beginnings in a mission of mercy to save lives in 1925: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1925 serum run to Nome. I thought the lead dog Balto might be named after my home town Baltimore, but no. His statue is in Central Park in NYC. The remains of the actual dog are preserved by taxidermy in Cleveland. There is also a 1995 animated film http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balto (film) about him and the race.
