I was humming "My Favourite Things" today and thought of those words from it. It made me think of a poll we might take. What are YOUR favourite things about cats or kittens? I'll get the ball rolling with a couple of mine. Besides agreeing with Julie Andrews when she sings about those whiskers, I'll add my other favourite: - a cat's/kitten's purr. To me it's the most reassuring sound in the world, and usually cats intend it to be. Mama cats purr to tell their drowsy babies, "Sleep well. Everything's OK, I'm right here." And they often purr to tell their human serfs they're succeeding in their assigned task of making cats happy.
OK, that's me. What about you? What's YOUR favourite thing about your cats/kittens???

For me it would be a toss-up between the purr and the way they com eto curl up next to me on the couch or the bed when they want to be near me. I love that!

Thanks for your response, Dan. It's the only one here at rec.pets.cats.community so far, and none at rec.pets.cats.misc. But if you want to see what others say, go to rec.pets.cats.anecdotes where I posted this survey separately. Over there, dozens and dozens of cat lovers have written to describe Favourite Things about their kitties!

I like it when my little maine coon starts trilling and yiping at me. She can get very loud too if you ignore her. You must immediately to ask her what is up to stop the tirade.

Having them curl up beside me on my bed. I always have at least 2. sometimes 5 will join me.

Bobcat, don't be offended at the lack of response in this newsgroup. This group has a special purpose: the "community" referred to in the name is a community of cats. Here it's the cats who do most of the talking, but we "hoomins" are tolerated as long as we understand our place. (That may sound funny, but it's really quite fun.)
It can be annoying when things get cross-posted here by people who don't understand the purpose of this group, but mostly we just ignore it and it goes away. Your topic would probably find more responders in the r.p.c.anecdotes, r.p.c.health+behav, and/or r.p.c.misc groups.

I thought that too "little" Maine Coon? Perhaps she's not full grown yet and is merely only 14 lbs.

Little Maine Coon?

Yes she is very pretty but tiny.
I almost wished I hadn't had her fixed as I could have used her to breed mini maine coons. She is just over 9 pounds but compared to my Male siamese that is 20 pounds she is tiny still.
