Is it possible for the offspring of a Black Lab (Dam) and Black and Tan GSD (Sire?) to be all white? I'm told that the litter consisted of pups that were all black, black and tan and all white.
Haven't seen the pup or littermates, just going by description.

Sorry folks, posted to the wrong group.

that's one for Liisa, but my guess would be no. my second guess would be multiple fathers.

and, trust me, if it's the dog-in-the-garage, you don't want to see it. it'll be less gut wrenching if you don't have a cute little face to put with the mental image.

Theoretically, it's possible (B&T GSDs can throw white).

But what you're probably seeing as "white" is actually "yellow" (the black Lab *** probably throws yellow).
Many yellow Labs look white as puppies.

That's what I thought too.

Considering that my dogs aren't allowed in her house, there is zero chance of me going over. I've done my bit when my parents came over, and we all visited them. I have however, offered that her pup is welcome to come over with them when they visit. Quite honestly, I'd rather they just sent the pup over and stayed put themselves, because I'm not going to be a good hostess.
A pup who doesn't know how to behave in the house can be trained. Idjit humans, who are quite intelligent and have advanced degrees, and still manage to make completely irrational choices, cannot.

Upon further review...I don't think it's possible (due to my subsequent, limited review of the GSD's color genetics) to get a yellow here, but a white should be possible (even absent an additional sire).
I think.
