One of the two sick corns passed away sometime during the night. I found it this morning. It was the one that pooped out the green, slimy, ***.

The body is in the refrigerator, and awaiting a necropsy-scheduled to drop it off weds when I bring in my graybanded kingsnake (I picked her up yesterday and found a lump in her neck last night).

The other corn, who I thought would be the first to die, is still alive, but still refusing food. It still has the blue-black line down its middle, just like the other one did.
It will also be going in with me on wednesday.
I e-mailed the person who sold the two to me, with no response this time around-so I left her negative feedback on the Board of Inquiry. These two arrived here skinny and cold, and I was angry at her about that-but this just takes the cake. To make matters worse, she was criticizing my care for them in her prior responses-except all my other baby corns are kept the same way and all of them are healthy!
I then decided to do a little more looking around on her website and noticed a blurb talking about how she was "getting out of colubrids" and wonder if maybe some of her colubrids were sick, and the corns could have caught something from them before arriving here.
Hopefully this is not crypto, if it is, I hope I quarantined well enough. We'll see, I guess.

sorry to hear that

Poor thing. :-( I'm sorry you lost it. You did all you could.

I hope the vet can give you a definitive answer on the cause, and it's not something that can affect the rest of your animals. Good luck!

Blue black... maybe a stretched full intestine, internal bleeding, stretched irritated stomach, is it high enough to be the lung?

Name please? I avoid the BOI generally unless I'm very motivated to go there. Too much negativity. But you, I can just ask to name the culprit. Emotion: smile

Scary. URL?

You have my best wishes, woman. Was she separated from your collection?

Quite a few people are thinking they were impacted with calci-sand due to the coloration of the *** they both passed:
From the first corn, the one who died:

From the 2nd corn:

That looks exactly the same (colour and texture) as the calci-sand that Harry is kept on. I would agree with those who think it was impactation.

Although I haven't used white calci-sand this also looks like sand.

So sorry your little one died. I'm still trying to find mine with no luck.

That looks definitely like calci sand. Probably the previous owner simply threw the prey items in the viv and so the sand stuck on them when the little snakes ate them. I can't imagine another reason for a snake taking mouth fulls of sand.
I'm sorry for your loss.

I hope you find yours, I still haven't found my missing rubber boa! Emotion: smile

Yeah, several other people (and a couple very well-known corn snake breeders) have commented that it looks like sand as well. TKReptile so far has refused to answer any of my emails. Emotion: sad
