They don't cost THAT much: I got a couple of those at Petsmart last week.

~~ Just reiterating that well-made better-quality toys are worth an extra dollar or two, that's all. LindaA

I understand. I'd hope that Petsmart wouldn't sell anything that would hurt our birds.

We had some small metal wind chimes with bell-like tones, ... some heavy monofilament line and restring them all with that.

~~ Is the metal on the wind chimes bird-safe?

How can I tell? The ones in there look like polished stainless.
Monofilament ???

Something wrong with it?
I suggest using quick links or pear links to hang the chimes if you've determined that they're safe.

What are those?

Did they sell you that "faulty" Happy Hut? Emotion: wink
You can't assume everything in a pet store is safe for your particular bird. Heck, even specialty children's toy stores have recalls on occasion, and their toys undergo much more stringent testing than cheap bird toys.

From one of your own posts:

Right at the top ... stainless-steel quick links and pear links. Also, if you have any doubts about the safety of something you're putting in your bird's cage, why risk it? I hardly think that the wind chimes you're talking about is a bird toy. And as Starlight pointed out, whatever you purchase for your bird should be checked for its durability and safety, whether it's toys, seed cups, cages or whatever. Some birds are gentle with their toys, others can't wait to rip them apart. With the rough guys, it's even more important to choose wisely.

I don't think you do understand, or you don't listen, or you crave the attention, like a child. Lots of the stupid questions you ask are just common sense things, or could easily be solved by Google. Just in case you haven't figured it out yet, companies are in the business of making money, not always providing what is safe for us, or our pets.
I sure miss Mamabird. Emotion: smile

So correct, TCL.

I miss her too. Sure would be nice to at least know how she's doing. Last I heard, she was quite ill and was getting help taking care of her many birds. Emotion: sad
