Hello all, I just got a parrotlet. He's very cute. I know parrotlets have thereputation of being a small bird ... in the cage at this point,so I don't think that would be a very effective consequence. Any ideas? Thanks, Mari

Mari,
It has been sometime since I have been here, but I have a Parrotlet "Cricket" he is going on 3 years old now. But when I got him he went through a nippy stage if I remember right, it didn't appear to be a mean bite just a bite and like you said he hung on but it wasn't that hard. No real hard pressure behind the bite, but any bite hurts. He did it for about a month and then he quit. Try scratching his neck, they absolutely love that and you will win his heart. I kept him off my neck till he stopped the biting and when on the hands I would just shake them a little and say no bite. He has turned into a wonderful little enjoyable bird that has been a pleasure to own.

I tried to tell him the same thing in another ng and basically got told that I laughed, also. I really dislike this person and wish it would go back to the hole he crawled out of.
