I totally agree with that. I remember when I went to college and I had to wake up every morning and catch a bus and then a train, and then work all day, did that for two years straight, and ended up with nothing to show for it. I did get some motivation but that ended once I realised that I was only good enough for menial work since my then "new" qualifications had been superseded. And yes, you are a damn sight luckier than some people, considering I'm in Australia I am unable to keep that massive range of herps that you guys are allowed to keep in America. Yes Julian you are luckier since you've got a hell of a lot more freedom than I do, and I guess this applies to most Americans. I have a good friend who lived in Sydney who flew to the US and for some reason he never returned, and to this day I wonder why. He had dual nationality since his father was American but his father was living in Australia.

He wanted nothing more to do with Australia when he got over there, he rang me on the phone and told me that he had no intention of coming back. I guess he took advantage of the freedoms that could be had over there, you just don't have any freedom in Australia when it comes to herping, and he was a herper, he was 19 years old, and his uncle let him stay, he got a startup job in the computer field starting low but eventually working his way into the field (funny how he got a job over there so easily and I was unable to get a decent job over here despite having qualifications!!!).

There is too much social meddling in this country, we are losing our freedoms in record time. If we keep going that way it won't be long and we'll end up with nothing at all except maybe something resembling a kindergarten playground. Who wants to live like that? I'd rather die than be treated like a little 5 year old.

Oh, Benjamin, under any other name you're still a paranoid schitzophrenic.

No, my name is not Benjamin. My name is Peter.
Yeah, I know that Ben posted some similar sentiments about Australia and I do share his views - that we have less freedom due to social meddling and what have you. But yeah, wrong guess.
Thanks for trying but no cigar.

Hello,
I am looking for an adult, or fairly large sub adult normal black rat snake. Does anyone have one available, or can they point me to someone who might? Thanks for your consideration. Email (Email Removed). Thanks,

I have yellows and reds ( "Ah, take the reds, Man!"). Drove by a 5 foot red that had JUST been killed by a car. We delivered two yellows to a barn today.

Yes i can, but you didnt mentuion where you are int he world, im not psycicic

No, you're not a psycicic, psychic or even a typist. You're just a stoner living off of other peoples tax money.

How do you know that he lives off of other people's tax money? Many of us live with disabilities but work. I'm disabled & I live with massive pain but still I work. Many of us that are disabled need to work for our psychological well being among other things! Not being a productive member of society would be the worst thing I could do to myself. snake lady
Agreed 100%. I'm still trying to find work that gives me a sense of belonging. I currently am unable to find work, but I did do some work at the local laundromat a few weeks ago to see how useful I was and to my surprise I could get quite a lot done - but just one thing, due to "speed issues" I wasn't considered good enough. Oh well, I guess there's a whole lotta people out there who can beat me to the punch.
I still feel the need to be productive to at least something more than myself. I can't stand being selfish and sitting around doing nothing day in day out as I tend to get into a "think only inside the box" mode and it is utmost disheartening. I agree with those sentiments, I think I'd rather die than be useless to society.
The good thing is that if I die my two blood sisters will each inherit 50% more than they otherwise would have should I be alive - that gives me a comfortable feeling as I know that the money they would get would go such a long way to better their lives and I'm sure they'd be mature at the time and they'd invest it for their old age.

I could care less whether I'm useful to society, but I damn well better be useful to myself and my children!

Might be good for them, but not so hot for you. And your sisters would probably have YOU.

Hi Cindy,
I could care less whether I'm useful to society, but I damn well better be useful to myself and my children!

Of course. If I had kids, they would always come first.
Might be good for them, but not so hot for you. And your sisters would probably have YOU.

Whatever is good for them is certainly better than whatever is good for me, since for some reason I tend to put others before myself. Of course, every now and then I put myself before others, but only occasionally and usually it benefits others in the end anyway.
I don't see any purposes in life unless they involve enhancing the lives of others. I can't see any point to just enhancing my own life without sharing those enhancements with other members of society. I can't stand any feeling of being utterly self-centred at the expense of others and I would never step on others just to get a leg up, but I do know of people who do just that and I have a great deal of pity for them - they just never seem to be satisfied with what they have, and they have a tendency to bring everyone else down to their sad and sorry level.
Sure, I want to be able to own an exotic herp in the land down under, but I wouldn't be willing to step on others to achieve that end, but I am more than happy to accept any law which gives us more freedom as individuals and as a society as well. BUT not without responsibilities. You just can't have one without the other, nobody has rights without responsibilities, this is the real world. If everyone had their cake and ate it there wouldn't be much left of this world.
