As to his "brutal attack" on a baby lizard, what did Buddy do that makes it brutal?

lol I'm sure it seemed brutal to the lizard no matter how kind and gentle Buddy was!!!

FWIW, the words "brutal attack" were the OP's. I get concerned when I see such words.

Is it possible that he could completely eat a rabbit skull?

yep. harriet catches them and eats everything, including the skull, skin, fur, and bones. except for some blood on her feet, you'd never know that she'd caught a bunny, as she disposes of all other evidence.
harriet says that bunnies are about the mostest perfectest food EVAR!1!!

And that is what happens here when a husky catches a squirrel. Not that they don't like the taste of bunnies, but for some reason we don't get many in the yard. OTOH, not too many squirrels venture into the yard anymore either. I guess the word gets around...

harriet longs for the taste of tender, young squirrel. there's one living in a tree justoverthefencedamnit. she wants it so badly she can hardly stand it. but, the squirrel is no dummy. it stays on its side of the fence and teases her mercilessly.
bunnies, on the other hand, are absurdly plentiful. i can look out the window at any moment and see 8-10 of them grazing in the yard. the odds are in harriet's favor, and she gets about one/month.
now, if she could just catch the little blue tailed skink that lives under the deck, she's be really* happy. he's just too darned quick, though. it cracks me up to hear her squawk in frustration when she's *just* missed him, *again.

Could I have your address, please? There are a couple of sighthounds and a couple of Siberians that would like to visit you before winter comes.
