i have a california kings snake, and i am in the process of moving her from her current habitat into a larger one. i plan to build the cage out of plexi-glass and wood. i am currently in the planning stages, and would like anyinfo anyone has on what type of live plants i can safely put in the habitat. also if anyone knows where this type (california king) of snake resides in the wild i could pick plants that naturally grow in that area. thanks .

Southern California I wouldn't go with live plants (too much trouble to maintain) but would stick with artificial. Also, the snakes live on rocky hillsides which have a lot of tall grass vs. trees, bushes, and greenery, so if you're looking to make it look "natural," just get some dead tall grass like you'd put in a flower arrangement and use that.
