Can two or more cats use the same litter box? I have a cat and want another one but there's no space for the 2nd litter box in my bathroom. Thnks.

Mine do but I keep it super duper clean. I scoop it twice daily. If they don't like it though or they need more boxes due to age, you'll have to put another one somewhere else in the home. Maybe a mudroom if you have a home or something like that?
Before we moved about a year ago, Magnus and Vincent used the same litter box. After we moved, Magnus refused to use the same one. Now they have two different litter boxes. I still don't know why his habit changed.
NO WAY.
DON'T EVER ALLOW TWO CATS TO USE THE SAME LITTER BOX.
CATS ARE VERY CLEAN BY NATURE AND DON'T LIKE OVERUSED LITTER BOXES.
BESIDES THEY DON'T LIKE THE SMELL OF ANOTHER CAT IN THEIR LITTER BOX AS THEY ARE TERRITORIAL CREATURES.
I HAD THREE KITTENS AND I FACED A LOT OF PROBLEMS.
THEY DINT WANT TO USE THE SAME BOX AND STARTED URINATING ON THE BEAN BAG AND OTHER CORNERS OF TH HOUSE.
SO SERIOUSLY DO NOT LET THEM USE THE SAME LITTER BOX.
Thx a lot for this, this was very helpful because I'm 18 with two cats and living with my mother while I finish up high school and my cats names are Solstice, and Luna and they are 15 in cat years and are making mistakes on the kitchen floor every other day even though they do have a litter box. their from the same litter of kittens and both are female but they love each other very much because their always licking each other an playing. But when it comes to the litter they rather not deal with each other so my mother is tying to get rid of one of them and I will never choose ever, ever I got them at the same time and have been saying Solstice and Luna stop being bad or stop knocking stuff over but I can't bear with having to say ones name without the other. It's either both or nether. I tried having to litters in the house but she says "It's to many litters in the house" but its only Two. But think you so much for the posted advise!
Mine did for 8 years until one recently died, but they were brothers from the same litter. They had no issues at all about it
No need to yell (all caps). I have 3 cats and they all use the same box. I have 5 litter boxes in the house, 2 upstairs and 3 down. We will find a present once a day in some of the other boxes, but all three heavily use one of the boxes. You can't make them use different or certain boxes, just provide the correct amount of litter boxes (1 per cat plus an extra). If you have 2 cats, the recommended number of boxes would be 3.
Yes, I have 2 cats, brother and sister from the same litter and 1 litterbox. With that said, I keep it extremely clean and scoop it as soon as they go, or as soon as I get home from being out. In fact my cats like to use it together at the same time! Its so funny, but they like to go together. They meow when there need to go to let me know (they like an audience) and know I clean the box for them right after. If you don't think you would be able to stay on top of things, then definitely get 2. Also, since the cats didn't grow up together it might be a good idea to get two as well,so they each can have their own space if needed.
I have 10 house cats and numerous litter boxes with doirs and filters etc....but all my cats will only use 3 of the boxes even though t are all identical. Sometimes they will wait for each other to come out before using it themselves. Very strange
