my 10 year old female shorthair tabby was walking across the deck and it appeared that her left back leg wasn't working. She was trying to walk to the door but was dragging her back leg and walking crooked. I brought her into the house and now she appears to be fine. She is walking normal, doesn't appear to be in pain, eyes are clear and as I was checking her leg over she was purring and appeared contented - no pain no distress. Any idea what happened?
Be careful about not having it checked. She could have had a mini stroke and needs some medical attention, even though she looks fine. You are not trained to look for signs of a stroke. Also, look for wounds on the legs to make sure there isn't anything wrong that you can see. But this sounds neurological and I would take her in to be checked out.
