Some times high levels of Amonia build up in aquarium water it can often etch the surface of the glass when this happens it will apear to be frosted when it dries.. then it is only good as a wet tank not as a vive or terarium.. sorry if this is bad news but ive seen several cases of this .. I think that's what happened here. I had three turtles in this one tank for awhile before I moved, the ammonia must have been high. Guess I'll put my baby snapper in it if it still holds water. Thanks, Charlie! )

This is why I told you to use car polish. Go to the auto shop and look for a good abrasive polish, pick up a polish pad with it.

Not just an idea, it's used sometimes on auto glass. Try it on a small area first.
