We just sold our first tiel, a male yellow pearl, my wife was kinda good buddys with it and we decided to keep it, Named him Nikki, the couple that took him had had a gray tiel and a budgie for ten years, they lost them due to thier dog putting its paws up onto the stove and turning it on, a melted plastic spoon was found to be the cause of death, toxic fumes rose upstairs into the bird room, after four weeks, its time for a new bird, the woman was going to name whatever bird she got Micky, ours was Nicky and he took right to her, wouldnt go off her shoulder, he was sweet with us as well but not like that, was it meant to be, I think so, so we let her have him :-) Pretty cool, Huh ??

Not only cool that Micky took to her, but very, very cool that you were compassionate and caring and shared your beloved Nikki.

Thanks, my wife cried.
Yeah; I can imagine she did. Perhaps she doesn't realize how much of a blessing her kind act could be to someone?
Kindness goes a long way; and sometimes we do something for which we don't recognize the value.
Our home burned down completely last month. We lost our cocker spaniel, and our beloved 3 birds.
Our neighbor is a breeder, and she gave us a new baby parrotlet last week, who we named Nui (Hawaiian for big, great, important). Nui is 4 inches of fluff, sweetness and (occasional) attitude. I don't know if my neighbor realizes how much of a blessing that act of kindness was, but our lives are much richer now, and the 1st time Nui put his head down for my husband to give him scritchies, it brought tears to my husband's eyes.
Thanks, my wife cried.

Im sorry to hear that, my prayers are with you, it is definetly a blessing that there are people that do care, the joy of giving in times of need are so rewarding for both parties, its hard to explain what you feel. Peace be with you.
