hi all,
my kids' corn snakes eggs (3) are hatching, or rather one of them hatched yesterday, and we're waiting on the other two.

the one that hatched has retreated back into his egg... is this normal, or is it anything to worry about? the eggs are in a plastic show-box-size container with peat moss substrate and a flourescent light above for light and some warmth.
should we move the hatched egg/snake into a smaller container by itself, or just leave it be?
thanks in advance,

No, that happens alot. Some will make several slits in the shell and then retreat. Most will completely come out of the egg within 24 hours or so. As they hatch you could take them out and put them in another container.

Good luck.
