As you know I bought an adult corn snake yesterday. My question, after finding how lovely these snakes are, is, can I out another corn in with her? If I can does it have to be male or female? Can I put a hatchling in or not? I only ask as the rescue I got her from had unrelated corns in with each other and I would like to get another corn and I have a tank big enough for two.

Hope there's a reason For questions unanswered I just don't see everything. Yes I'm inside you Tell me how does it feel to feel like this , Just like I do.

Hey Cathy,
You can put 2 adults in the same tank. If you want to put 1 adult and 1 hatchling...that might present a problem...the adult could possibly crush the hatchling. It doesn't matter if its male or female.

Of course the 'good news' is that corns don't typically eat each other, unless you feed them together and they both get ahold of the same mouse. Cat keeps corns together with good success, and has posted about that. I have friends who say it's not ideal to house snakes together, corns or not.
I think 'ya pays yer money and ya takes yer choice' on this one, as long as you feed them separately and the viv is big enough.

I really think it's a myth that snakes want buddies. But I'm hardly an expert.

Helps enormously, thanks. It means I can find another gorgeous snake to put in with Kellogg. :-))

Two corns in a large enough cage will work. Two females will work the best. A male and female will work too, however, you may fine eggs sometime in your future. Although, if you don't cool them, they may never breed.
Both snakes should be close to the same size. A significantly smaller snake may become a meal for the larger snake. Corns ar not known for eating smaller snakes, why take a chance.
WARNING: Corns snakes have been known to become habit forming. Once you take in a corn snake you will not be satisfied with just one.

It's funny I couldn't find anything on any of the care sheets I found and you lot are all so helpful :-))
It's not that I think Kellogg would like another snake its just I would. -)) I may go back to the rescue and get the other friendly one to keep me company. :-))

Is this not what you expected to see? If you wanna find out what's behind these cold eyes, You'll just have to claw your way through this disguise.

I don't want to breed so if I can manage 2 females then that would be great.

I only asked because I wanted a lavender phase and it would be a hatchling cos they're only being bred for next year. But the good news is I have another 30" tank available early next year so I can keep a small snake in there til its big enough to go in with Kellogg. :-))

No kidding! I've always looked at the pictures of normal corns and thought they were either too bright or too dull, I saw her yesterday and fell in love :-) I can't believe I haven't bought one before! :-)

I believe Cat (Clara) keeps grown males together but she'd have to confirm that.
