I bought this TW8060CORN-1 Crazy Corn Original at Birdalog.com. I cooked the mixture and tasted it out of curiosity and it is red hot. I mean really , really spicy. Is this okay for a Parakeet?

Is anyone familiar with this stuff. It says "All tame birds go wild for Crazy Corn"

It's one of them more popular cooked cereal mixes. The spiciness is fine for birds, their sense of taste is no where near as good as ours, and the hotness of some spices doesn't trigger their pain receptors the way it does mammals. One way to keep squirrels out of a bird feeder, for example, is to mix the seed with Chile pepper. The wild birds don't care about the Chile, but the squirrels usually don't like it (at least until one develops a taste for it!)

Gloria,
Thank you so much for the speedy answer. I was a little concerned about feeding it to my little boy.
