This morning I was doing some voluntary work at our rescue center. Grooming and bathing dogs that means. There was this long haired dog, I picked up one of his feet and... I realized he had no TOENAILS!! I called the rescue owner and he was shocked too. A vet should have a look at the dog tomorrow. The poor thing still have two nails in the back legs, one on each foot. I wonder if there's some dog declawing practice I'm not aware of?? The dog seemed really scared of the toe nail clippers when I picked them to deal with another dog's claws so I lean towards the idea it was abused or something. Very sad.

I've never heard of it, and no vet I've ever known would have done such a thing. The dog was abused most probably. I'm glad he's in good hands now.
